GALLERY - CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS

Thru 9-11-26: A specialty crew is boring into the ground for 218 reinforced concrete pilings, each extending up to 63' beneath the floor off the underground garage. These piers will underpin the large steel and concrete footing pads that will support the 8-story concrete structure's interior columns.

The spectacle of downtown pyrotechnics blazing above the colorful River Lights is always enjoyable. Fireworks displays at nearby Four Winds Field (home of the South Bend Cubs) are also visible on many Summer evenings.

With building a beautiful new Riverwalk and Seitz Park now underway, the Construction Crane is a common form of "wildlife" on the river! This one is backlit by another breathtaking Cascade sunset.

Cascade resident Dr. Thomas O’Grady recently retired after a 35-year career on the faculty at the University of Massachusetts, Boston, where he was a professor of English, Director of the Irish Studies program, and a member of the Creative Writing faculty.
