Along with the constant spectacle of sparkling water flowing beneath an ever-changing sky, there's almost always something happening along the riverfront at The Cascade. First Responders from across the nation and around the world are regularly seen literally outside your living room window, training to hone their lifesaving skills on this rare stretch of urban whitewater. Across the way Century Center and Island Park host frequent public and private outdoor events including live musical performances. Pyrotechnic displays synced with the River Lights below are another visual treat, while even more fireworks shows can be seen throughout the Summer in the sky above nearby Four Winds Field.
From one of the world's top 100 theaters (Morris Performing Arts Center is ranked by POLLSTAR as #85 worldwide in ticket sales), to dozens of great restaurants, museums, sports venues, parks, arts, churches, local shops and farm markets; downtown South Bend and The East Bank are your walkable activity playground. There are more things to do and places to go downtown than car-dependent suburbanites can imagine!
